About the Event
This is an easy social run. Its meant for runners of all levels. We run for 30 mins and generally do around 3-5K.
This run is the same as our regular runs, but we're encouraging our members to bring their dogs and meet the Social Run Club Dogs. Social Run Club is always dog friendly but today has a social afterwards just for dogs.Â
We've also partnered with the SPCA and they're bringing some Doggos out. So if you want to walk/run a dog, we need some help.
SPCA Foster Dog Program
SPCA has a foster dog program where people can take care of a dog until that doggo gets adopted. It means that the dog doesn't have to stay in the shelter and you get some company. Doggo Day Run is a great time to meet some of the foster dogs and find out more information about the program.Â
End Point
We'll end our jog at Emery Barns Park in Yaletown (Richards and Davie - https://goo.gl/maps/BYtbpDbwQQad8oj4A) roughly around 10-10:15.
Bring your dogs for the run, pick them up after or meet us for the social after, it's your call.
- The route for this run is designed for people to head back early if their dog needs to stop
- There will be a walking group for doggos that just want to stroll
Quick Agenda:
- Club Annoucements
- Quick icebreaker (posted on instagram that morning)
- Break into pace groups,Â
- JogÂ
- Post run coffee and baked goods (sometimes gelato).
Paces:
Our pace groups are: 6, 6:30 and 7mins/K
This is meant to be social, so find an easy pace for you, so you can chat and meet some great people. Remember when you run and talk, your pace slows down significantly (at least 30secs/K) or you start huffing and puffing.Â
If you're not sure where you fit in, send us a message (geoff@socialrunclub.com) and we'll chat with you about different paces.Â
We'd also love to open up slower pace groups or if you'd like to just come and use the group as an accountability session, you can start with us and then meet us for coffee after.
